Stephanie, an eminent violinist, is struck down with multiple sclerosis, and on her husbandís advice consults Dr Feldmann to help her adjust to her new life, which has been deprived of purpose. The play moves through conflicting moods as their relationship shifts, revealing fascinating aspects of their personalities. This is a deeply moving play which inevitably brings to mind the ordeal suffered by Jacqueline Du Pre, who had the same cruel deprivation.
It had successful runs in the West End and on Broadway, and a major revival in 2009 was also lauded by the critics. It subsequently transferred to the West End again.
"As moving a piece of theatre as you could wish for." The London Daily Mail
"A wonderfully sensitive play, positive and optimistic." The London Financial Times
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Samuel French Ltd.
